The cue sheet is now up for this Sundays ride. This is a great ride going into York SC and Gastonia. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. and ride starting at 10:00 a.m.

GCC Meeting

We will be having a GCC meeting on April 4th at 7:00pm in the room connected to Center St. Tavern. You will have the option of ordering drinks and dinner should you like.

For the rest of the 2012 year all meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of the month excluding July, that meeting will be moved to the 11th. The meetings will be held at Center St. Tavern in there room next door and will start at 7:00pm.

GCC and the Friends of Crowders Mountain anual Metric Century

The GCC and the Friends of Crowders Mountatin will be hosting their anual ride on Sunday, April 15, 2012.

There will be a 22, 37, and 60 mile opption, beginning at Shelter 2 at Sparrow Springs Road area of Crowders Mountain State Park (when turning into CMSP main gate, just keep driving all the way to the end of that road), ride starts in/travels out of CMSP and around countryside.

Registration 9 a.m.

Ride begins 10 a.m.

GCC Members $15.00; non-members $20.

Please carpool; observe speed limits. Rangers helping w/ltd. parking spaces for vehicles; Gastonia Police Officers assist cyclists leave the park.

Rout sheets and Registration Forms are to follow. You will also be able to fill out registration forms on the day of the ride at the ride.

We are going to have our next meeting on Wednesday February 22nd at Center St. Tavern downtown Cramerton, meeting will start at 7:00pm. I have spoken with them and they will have a private room available for us with good service. I hope to see you there.

MS Ride

The Coasters have commited to doing the MS Ride in 2012. If you are intrested in doing the MS Ride this year please join our team. Look for us on the MS Ride web site and join us. We would like to have a big showing this year. Please send Joe Hageman an email if you have any questions.

The next club meeting will be at Rodi January 18th at 7;00 pm. We will discuss the success of the Polar Bear Ride and the up coming season. Rodi is on Garrison Blvd close to Hwy 321.

Start/Finish: Forestview High School

5545 Union Rd Gastonia, NC

Registration: 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm

Ride Start: 1:15 pm

To save time at registration, please print Registration Form in advance, complete, & bring to ride with payment.

Distance: 50 miles, 39 mile option

Cost: $15

Course description: 50 miles (with 39 option) of moderate terrain in southern Gaston County (NC) and northern York County (SC). The course is marked with turn arrows.

Ride Features: Aid station stocked with cookies & fruit, rolling sag.

Warning: There Are No Bathroom Facilities Available!

Pre-registration: Since the ride may be canceled because of inclement weather, we are collecting the ride fee only on the day of the ride. You will need to register with your name, address, and the name and phone # of an emergency contact. Riders under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
